Leslie Fine brings new life to an outdated kitchen.
There’s a surprise ending to the story.
Prior to the renovation, with dated appliances, less than optimal work areas and poor storage options, the kitchen was not a room in the house that encouraged the creative juices to flow! The homeowners decided to take on the kitchen renovation to make their kitchen more functional and appealing.
The project presented significant challenges: reconfiguring the cabinetry and appliance placement without major structural changes to the kitchen; maintaining a neutral palette in the contemporary space without creating a cold environment; selecting cabinet finishes that would be compatible with the original granite flooring throughout the space; creating a secondary eating area (the island) to accommodate a family of four while still maintaining the work space.
Leslie Fine addressed each one of these concerns with aplomb, and worked her magic to create a stunning result. Now, with a beautiful, functional kitchen, one of the homeowners (the husband) has become a lover of cooking! The electric stove top was replaced with a sleek, gas model; the dual ovens provide a wonderful place to prepare a multitude of recipes. The larger of the two ovens even has a built in rotisserie option. The warming drawer comes in handy when items are ready at different times – it keeps food warm without drying further cooking the food or drying it out. Wine is convenient with the new refrigeration at hand; espresso and cappuccino drinks are a typical end-of-the meal treat. The whole kitchen is infused with new life.
