FourPly Studio transforms two city condos.

The designs for two Boston area condominiums respond to a modern lifestyle.

While many new loft-style or open living condominium and apartment buildings have sprung up throughout the country in the past 10 to 15 years, many of the most desirable urban neighborhoods are still made up primarily of older housing. While charming and solid, many of these homes were designed at a time when small rooms and hallways were the norm and do not fit the more open and fluid ways of living desired by many clients today.

Fourply Studio was able to transform two brownstone condominiums; one is Boston’s Back Bay and the other in the trendy South End of Boston, into the perfect homes for their clients. Both families were looking for spaces that would serve several purposes and would allow for open interactions between all inhabitants, whether family or guests.

In both homes the strategic location of skylights and the minimal use of window treatments has allowed for daylight to reach all of the areas of the home highlighting the sense of openness.
